Doug Ivanovich's Powerful Insights On World Peace If only we could but snap our fingers and deliver peace to the world and to all humankind. We all know such a scenario is unrealistic. Peace requires attention and awareness; peace requires planning and effort; and peace requires ingenuity, in terms of movements, campaigns and institutional as well as grass roots initiatives. World peace requires forgiveness; world peace requires re-education and reorientation; world peace requires a sea-change in consciousness and the most massive and effective call to action the world has ever seen. World peace requires worldwide initiative. To be effective, a World Peace One movement and World Peace One declaration requires enlightened leadership. To set an appropriate example, we must reach out to the children of the world and are thus targeting some 500,000 schools and youth organizations, worldwide. To succeed, we must engage educators, doctors, scientists, corporate executives, musicians, film and TV celebrities, religious leaders and heads of state, all as equals, deferring to compassion and inspiration, as well as to the great challenge that lies before us as responsible members of an emerging world community. As newly realized global citizens we must unite in our cause of world peace and human unity, in ways that ignite our spirit and our willingness to work cooperatively around so great a purpose that we set the ultimate example, ennobling ourselves by the very work that we undertake as a collective. Ours is not a call for an end to war on political grounds. It is a call for an end to war on humanitarian grounds and on the practical grounds of humanity's survival, itself.. The Prospect of World Peace The prospect of World Peace is exciting and its promise, inescapable. What greater cause is there than all of us working together for peace, for the sake of the children of the world and for all the world's citizenry? What greater cause is there than to serve that which is grand and noble, and innocent, in the hearts of all people... a cause that in some way finally redeems all of the tragic wars of history, bequeathing a "Legacy of Peace," to present and future generations? We need no apology to justify a declaration of World Peace One. In so doing, we set the stage for the ultimate victory... the lasting peace that has so long eluded humanity. The time has come to put our hearts and souls into our cause. We do not ask that people lay down lives for peace... we are asking people, instead, to live and let live, for peace. Together, there is nothing that we cannot achieve. Now, therefore, in an effort to avert a catastrophic world ending war, in favor of the hopes and dreams of humanity from the beginning of time... we the people of the world, for each respective nation, for the United Nations and all its collective representatives, for heads of state, for educators and corporate leaders, for artists and lay persons, for the children of the world and for the sake of all peoples, undertake to state our clear and unified call for an end to war, and declaration of World Peace One. The Time Has Come The time has come for the people of the world, for every race, ethnicity, nation, culture, religion, individual and group, to rise up as never before, to demonstrate the intensity of our commitment to the critical cause of Peace. Further, the time has come to heed the cries of the innocent of every era, whose calls for an end to war echo unanswered through the ages.... whose lives were interrupted by violence, death and destruction, by separation, terror and grief... whose hopes, dreams and aspirations were dashed by the losses of countless millions of loved ones, extirpated from their lives, their families and their homes... sacrificed upon the Altar of War. For too long the voices of peace have been silenced by the marketers of war... for too long the human family has been denied its right, for all of us, not just some of us, to pursue our dreams and to live out our lives in peace. The time has come for those of us who embrace peace, to educate, inform, inspire, empower and motivate the world public, in an unprecedented call to action, extolling the many possibilities, virtues and benefits that come attendant with peace... an idea whose time has come. World Peace One Emphasizes Every Human Being's Need For Love WP1 emphasizes every human being's need for love, compassion and forgiveness, for faith, hope and charity, for practicality, ingenuity and resolution... for new models of enlightened co-creation, for universal inspiration and solution orientation... to see that the needs of every human being are met, so that we can all prosper and be happy... so that one day we can all be truly free. The intent of WP1 is to mobilize the people of the world and to rally humanity's genius by giving rise to both institutional and grass roots movements, campaigns and initiatives. No human heart should remain unmoved by our effectiveness, or by the sincerity of our efforts. Like the cells of a single body, we will all benefit from a world at peace. WP1 will solicit "Signatures of Hope," from a humanity held hostage by terror and war, and by the tyranny of their exacting dues... appealing to a humanity that has long awaited the fulfillment of an age-old dream. Thus, today, there stirs in our hearts and souls the very real possibility of bringing an end to war during our lifetime... for when we respect and celebrate life, we honor the intelligence that created it. WP1 is a celebration of life. WP1 is a dream, a campaign, a labor of love, a concert, a broadcast, a world movement, and an intent to reclaim our collective dignity, amidst the struggles of modern life.  Once, tragically, a minority of human beings declared World War One, "the war to end all wars." Today we replace that darkness with a blazing light, with the majority of human beings declaring World Peace One, "the peace to end all wars." The time has come for the power of our purpose to redefine humankind. Today We Plant Historic Seeds Today we plant historic seeds, whose harvest will not be denied. Let us rally to this beautiful necessity as we build our engines of peace. It is a heavenly mission we embark upon, bearing the stamp of heaven in our hearts. We find strength in the virtue of our cause and grow stronger each day as we unite. We can bring an end to war. The entire world is waiting. Let us rise up together as if one spirit, to bring about a lasting peace and let us rise up together as if one voice, in our call for an end to war.
